It is unclear if the girl in the car (or other people in the car) were involved in the initial carjacking or who/which of them knew it was stolen. It is not a crime to unknowingly be a passenger in a stolen car. Some persons are released at the scene of a crime because there is not enough evidence at that moment to charge them. [/quote]
