Dyslexia and ADHD are a very common combo—anecdotally, every kid I know with dyslexia also has an ADHD dx.
My kid has dyslexia but not adhd. I think op was wrong to share the report. Not school will want that kid.
This is a horrible comment that is directly contradicted by comments on this very thread. You should be ashamed of yourself.
NP. I don't think this comment was delivered in the nicest way but I really don't think it was horrible. I personally wouldn't recommend someone share a report when a child is applying to private if they are not struggling academically to avoid discrimination it's really reasonable to share at least some of the info when a child is already enrolled. I can't think of a mainstream private that does not have a learning specialist to help kids who are diagnosed while they are students. I personally know bright kids at Sidwell and Landon with LDs who are doing fine with this support.
OP here. We are currently enrolled and have some tutoring in place already. We shared the report so that we can help advocate for accommodations and additional tutoring. So this is not an admissions situation.
