I'm the late 30s mom! My birthday and Christmas coming up and my partner jokes that he does an amazing job of buying what he's told to buy :) but I can't really think of anything special or that I want and it's driving him crazy. There are of course things I "need" - a new pair of uggs, new pajamas, so on - but for gifts I prefer legacy or investment pieces that I will wear frequently rather than something I'd buy myself. Last year, for reference, I asked for and received a Cartier love necklace for my birthday and a Goyard bag for Christmas. I have worn them literally every day since. The year before, I asked for and received a Tiffany floating diamond necklace (which I wore almost every day until I got the Cartier necklace) for my birthday and a pair of Marco Bicego earrings for Christmas. I already have a nice watch (rolex), I don't want another necklace because I really like the Cartier one and it's a perfect everyday necklace for me. I'm not really a bracelet person but I could become one? Earrings would be good but I have diamond studs already and would want something classic. I like Van Cleef and Arpels Alhambra earrings but they are more than I would want to him spend ($4000+) and the Sweet Alhambra ones seem like they would be too small - I have long hair that I wear down almost every day. I have nice small handbags too so I don't need any more. As I am typing this out, I think I want earrings or another non-necklace jewelry piece that I could wear frequently unless someone has a better idea. Is there anything else besides jewelry I could use or wear every day? (No experiences, needs to be something tangible) Any ideas? P.S. My life is not as charmed as it seems in this post, I promise, but I do need to give him a birthday present idea.
Dare to dream OP. To actually answer your question, money in a 529.
