Are you planning on road trips? Or just local driving? If driving just locally, you have a lot of great choices - I think the ioniq is a great one. If there is even a chance of using the car for an extended drive or road trip, Tesla is the best choice due to the charging network. Even if other cars will be added soon, it won’t be instantaneous and it could be a long while before it happens. I have friends with rivians, e-trons, etc and they won’t take them on road trips or even day trips due to charging concerns.

When you consider the range, the effective range is really more like 60% of the max because you will want to stay between 20% and 80% charged to maintain battery longevity. So an ev with 250 mi range sounds great, but it’s really more like 150 mi. And less if you are going up hills, driving on the freeway (drag from wind resistance), have the car fully loaded with people and luggage.

We are a high mileage family - can easily drive 50 miles a day driving kids around. We also do regular roadtrips that are 300-800 miles round trip. So for us, Tesla makes the most sense in terms of range, capacity for family of 4 plus dog, but it’s really the charging network that we wanted. The car itself is fine, I’m think other makes and models are better/more luxurious/more comfortable. But nothing is better than the charging network. I don’t even have to plan where I will charge along the way, I know that there will be superchargers waiting. I would love to get an ioniq or similar if we were just driving locally. [/quote]
