I want to sue DCPS because my son has gone to many good schools and is currently in the 3rd grade and his comprehension level is at a Kindergarten level and the school is dragging their feet to asset him for an IEP/504. He continues to be bullied and reprimanded for his actions; whether warranted or not. And we've only been there less than 30 days. Emotional distress/ Maltreatment and Educational negligence.
Is this the OP? Regardless, can you afford to post for the full panel of neuropsych testing? 4-5k? It is critical that you have a third party outside of DCPS evaluation your child for dyslexia. Do not just wait for DCPS to do the right thing. But before you spend time/ money on a lawsuit, I would pay for comprehensive testing. You should also post on the special needs forum to get advice from others who have been there/ done that.
