Huh? From my own Indian-American perspective, people in my community are getting Tesla for their drive-around-the-town car that is eco-friendly.  It is not seen as elite but a very pragmatic choice in terms of reliability, eco-friendly, cost, features, maintenance, safety etc.  Maybe it appeals to our nerdy and cost-conscious mindset? And you can bet your bottom dollar that most of these owners also have a cost-effective way to charge their cars most of the time - solar at home or free at work.

Tesla was always aiming to provide affordable EV's (Model 3). Of course they are now ubiquitous. It's also like the PP said. They are actually an economic choice in the long-term and eco-friendly. [/quote]
