What on earth?  Why do you want to respond if you don't care?  Why do you care if he knows that you know his number, since he knows yours?  And most importantly, why do you assume that he doesn't know who he was texting, since he both called and texted and identified himself by name and asked if it was your number?

You sound deeply overinvested.  Is this guy the one that got away or something?  Because the level of spin-up, added to what appears to be lying to your DH about who is blowing up your phone, is really over the top for a random call from someone you haven't seen in a decade-plus.[/quote]
