Defend it all you like.  I don't.  I think that it does indeed permeate a country.  Doesn't Christianity do the same here in the States?  Christmas, Easter

Even in "evolved" cultures, sexism exists.  But in places like Egypt and in other countries in the Middle East, where Islam IS the main religion, sexism is supported through religious beliefs.
