If you avoid the working breeds: Labs, goldens, German shepherds, border collies etc you can get a sweet dog. To me it is like telling someone to foster a kid if they don't want kids. A dog that was in a shelter may have lots of problems due to the stress of being in the shelter. I mean you can rescue an older dog from a specific breed and they will know their personality. Not every dog needs daily walks especially if you have a big backyard. Think small poodles[/quote]
