There's a few exceptions for longer medical emergencies but yeah....it was crazy and WRONG. Ultimately, I quit.

What I would suggest is to take a trip without your DH solo with the kids or include girlfriends/family if they are available (complicates it though) and then plan a few long weekend getaways with him and the kids (maybe a weekend away kids free if you can swing it) to have family time and help him get through this time. My husband gets MUCH less time than I do and so I my kids on solo trips annually for spring break and sometimes a week in the summer too.  It's been honestly really special. You'll figure it out! :)[/quote]
