Dogs like as a sign of affection.  Just don’t go near the dog and teach your kids to ask permission.   Majority of kids ask to pet our dog.  Only a select few just do it.  The training and socialization is important. [/quote]

As  I said he was sitting on the sidewalk and the dog trotted up into his face and licked him. It happened quick. It was not my sons fault. It was the dog owners fault for not keeping him by her side or at least watching him while she chatted. [/quote]
