Dogs like as a sign of affection.  Just don’t go near the dog and teach your kids to ask permission.   Majority of kids ask to pet our dog.  Only a select few just do it.  The training and socialization is important. [/quote]

I personally don't want nasty kids touching my dog.  A lot of kids aren't bathed regularly nor wash their hands.  However, you need to work with your kids not to be afraid of dogs.  That seems wrong too.  We keep our dog on a short leash and are right there if someone pets our dog. I'd prefer people not pet our dog but she's kinda cute and sweet so its unavoidable.[/quote]
