Unless there is some other bigger story, I think these are typical situations and have nothing to do with that particular facility. Also, people were sheltering in place because of the storm.
Merriweather had a major issue a few years ago during a storm. Outdoor concerts in DC are a no go.
There’s room under cover for people at FedEx and other football stadiums. Merriweather is a totally different thing.
Wrong. I was there last night and there were far too many human beings in the entryway space) where the concessions are. There were thousands upon thousands of us jammed in there with no air circulating, heat and humidity, dehydration. They would not allow us into the stadium until after 9:30 pm when at least half the stadium was there—in that tight space. Fed ex field holds 67,000 people at least. It was far past capacity in the hall area. People were fainting and panicking and passing out. Read my Yelp review today for more details. There was no order, no directions. Before they let us in at all “security” stopped admitting people and had the nerve to suggest we return to our cars. Not. The worst concert venue ever. I will never return. The concert didn’t start til 10 cause it was pouring rain. There were no announcements made. We just sat in the outing rain waiting.
