For those of you who habitually do it, especially at 15+ mph under the speed limit, why? Lack of awareness? Just your basic rudeness? I'm so curious!
Im not under the speed limit but if I am in the left lane it is because I am passing and then I get back over on the right lane until I need to pass again. BTW- some drivers in this area sees this as aggressive driving. It is not. I do not need to pick a lane and stay in it to make you more comfortable. I do wish you would maintain some semblance of a consistent speed though. My favorite is when someone wont let you over in the left lane so you can pass and then they hang in your pocket. And do not pass the people on the right.
That is commonly the only option to pass. VA drivers are consistently terrible, sticking to the left lane en masse and leaving the right lane open.
This is what drives me bonkers about I-66. The passing lane ping pongs between the far left and far right lane. Reckless drivers going 15+ over the speed limit are by far the most dangerous hazards on the road, but those who decide to impede the flow of traffic by going considerably slower in the left lane aren't helping matters.
