It depends on the school and the parents. There are plenty of places where AAP is not a focus and the parents are not really discussing it. There are probably kids at every school that brag about AAP, there was one at my kids school who was very loudly discussing moving to the Center. The kids I heard discussing him, during car pool or when over playing with my kid or at activities, were all pretty happy he was leaving because he was obnoxious.

I have heard my kids friends and my kid discussing who is in Advanced Math and who is in “AAP”, which is LIII at our school. I know that there are kids who have dropped out of Advanced Math or LIII for a variety of reasons. No one seems to care. The kids are still hanging out together.

So if you attend a school where LIV is really important then you and your kids will probably have a different experience then a kid at a school where the parents are not obsessed with LIV. [/quote]
