Are you insane? It’s a DRUG. You should not be willing to inject a drug with side effects just to get rid of 7-10 lbs which is such a doable number with small changes.
Not OP but this attitude kind of pisses me off. I’m similar and mid-40s. Please stop the “doable with small changes” while giving all the sympathy to those who are obese. Nope. Working my ass off to stay 10-15 lbs over and the weight doesn’t budge once you are peri or menopausal.
Who cares if my attitude about it bugs you? This is a drug for diabetes and serious weight issues, not 7 lbs.
You know, maybe they should follow the advice and make some small changes. I get it - but at the same time type 2 diabetes can be managed through the same food choices. So it’s insulting to say to a person “just make some small changes” it should be saved for people who have let it get out of control.
You can then gripe at people with type 2 diabetes. But I stand by my comment that it’s insane to consider going on a drug like this for *7 pounds.* my god if you walk 20k steps a day you could lose that in 8 weeks.
You could probably fix your type 2 diabetes with 20k steps per day, too.
Some people can. Not everyone. Op is not classified as overweight. What is the reason for a drug to help her lose weight to get where she "wants to be"?
That wasn’t what I took issue with. It was the “just make some small changes” to get the weight off poster that I responded to. It’s hypocritical to say save all the weight loss drugs for the obese if they aren’t also making the same lifestyle changes.
