I do hear they pay sometimes listen to parent requests but can't decide if I want to do it. My kid seemed to score just under his friends who got into pre Algebra. And he is a highly motivated kid (like walks in the door and immediately starts homework, is always engaged and participating in class, and buys books about math for fun) but then I also feel that the scores and there for a reason. But it also doesn't hurt to ask lol.
How close were the scores? We were just under on one and way over on another
Just under on both. I mean I don't honestly know why I care. The rational part of my brain is telling me that middle school 6th grade math placement will not ruin him forever and won't stop him from his dream job of a scientist. The irrational part of my brain sure is loud though.
Has he expressed a strong preference? I know my kid was quite anxious.
He 100% wants to be in accelerated classes. That is pretty much the main thing he is looking forward to in MS but he is also an anxious kid when it comes to work (perfectionist). So it's really probably fine.
