What's all this RWNJ "shoved down our throats" crap about? What's being shoved down anyone's throat? Nobody's forcing them to buy rainbow t-shirts. The mere fact of something existing is NOT "forcing it down your throat." It just isn't. You're a snowflake is all. And TBH this whole obsession around having things shoved down one's throat sounds a bit weirdly homoerotic, right wingers. Maybe pick a different phrase or something.😆
We take one day - ONE DAY - in May to remember those who died in defense of our country. And, we have 145 calendar days to recognize "alternate lifestyles." This is more than "something existing." And, God forbid you speak up against any of it.......don't tell us that these beliefs aren't being forced on people. [twitter]https://twitter.com/ADFLegal/status/1665787451409850371[/twitter]
And this affects you how? First of all I have no idea where you got this "145 calendar days to recognize alternative lifestyles" crap but even if that were true then so what? Do you get arrested, harrassed or threatened for not wearing a rainbow shirt? You aren't making your case for this hyperbolic "shoved down our throats" nonsense.
This is where we are headed..... The Biden administration is withholding funding for meals for CHILDREN at schools that don't embrace trans ideology. So, yes, people are harassed for not buying into the whole "men can be women" nonsense. [twitter]https://twitter.com/ADFLegal/status/1665787451409850371[/twitter]
I’m confused. Why would federal funds go to a private religious school? When has that ever been a thing?
Since 1946.
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day.
https://www.fns.usda.gov/nslp#:~:text=The%20National%20School%20Lunch%20Program,to%20children%20each%20school%20day.
Umm. Private is not necessarily religious. When have federal funds gone to religious schools?
Religious schools are private. This is a non profit religious school.
On behalf of an El Cajon church and preschool that serve low-income, immigrant families, attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom, the National Center for Law and Policy, and Advocates for Faith and Freedom filed an amended complaint and a motion for preliminary injunction Friday against the Biden administration and California state officials for unlawfully suspending Church of Compassion and Dayspring Christian Learning Center from participating in a food program simply because of their beliefs about human sexuality. The U.S. Department of Agriculture administers the Child and Adult Food Care Program nationwide, providing funding to California and other states. The Biden administration radically expanded its interpretation of the definition of “sex” in Title IX to include sexual orientation and gender identity, and following that change, California’s Department of Social Services and the USDA issued new government mandates that prevent houses of worship and religious organizations that maintain traditional religious beliefs regarding human sexuality from continued participation in the program. “The government is withholding food from families in need simply because their children attend a Christian preschool. This violates the U.S. Constitution and multiple federal laws that protect Church of Compassion and its preschool to operate according to the dictates of their faith,” said ADF Senior Counsel Jeremiah Galus. “Ironically, in the name of combatting discrimination, government officials have excluded the church and preschool from serving the El Cajon community based solely on their religious beliefs and exercise. This is antithetical to the First Amendment’s promise of religious freedom and only hurts needy families and children.”
https://adflegal.org/press-release/govt-pulls-funding-ca-church-preschool-serving-low-income-immigrant-families
They are no different than Catholic Charities or Methodist Missions running a child care or food program. They are allowed to hire only within their faith but they can’t discriminate or have a religious test for who gets benefits from federal funds. Hungry kids don’t have to join their cult to get a lunch provided by a government grant.
