ok, first, i was kidding, but really, jews and muslims are both descended from abraham. we call sarah a muslim name the same way you call it a hebrew name.

That's true -- it's in the official book.  According to the story, though, Ishmael (from whom Muslims claim descent), was the son of Hagar, another partner of Abraham, not Sarah.  In any case, Sarah was herself a daughter of the local community, so the name, which means princess, must have been common there.
