Madonna is a one trick pony. 60 whatever and still doing the same hyper sexual stuff to get attention. It is sad that she got stuck there creatively and emotionally.
This. Too bad she isn’t trying to produce feel good songs about embracing diversity and living life in a positive way. Or embracing maturity. Honestly, a lot of artists from the 80s really never evolved past their hits: Madonna Bruce Elton Billy Joel Cher John Cougar Mellencamp Etc. They tour on their hits from the 80s. Some don’t even make music that ever hits the radio. Perhaps they aren’t as talented as we thought they were when we anointed them as stars?
???? Some of Madonna's biggest hits are from the 1990s and 2000s. She also has top 40 songs from the 2010s... She's had 57 hot 100 songs (12 of which hit number 1). Her most recent top 10 was 2012. Source: https://www.billboard.com/artist/madonna/
2012 was a long time ago, and her biggest hits (the ones everyone knows) are from the 80s and 90s. But my comment stands: she hasn’t evolved as an artist. She’s the equivalent of a shock jock and it’s not a good look on the elderly…which is why Howard Stern settled down. And I think she’s vastly overrated as an artist because of it. Ditto for many other artists from the 80s who seem to have built a career on touring with their short list of hits everyone loves from the 80s/90s. Name a song by Springsteen or Elton from the last ten years that was in heavy rotation on the radio.
