We filed an appeal last week stating this and requesting to be transferred to Blair , her first choice , and I’m worried they will reject it and she has to go to Wheaton another year. Blair is like 500+ seats over capacity now. It seems unlikely they'll put any new students there. You may want to select a less crowded school.[/quote]

I keep hearing about how Blair is so overcrowded , if that is the case why do they accept so many freshmen from all over the county to come to their school ? I’ not sure what constitutes as overcrowded when the school’s teacher to student ratio is only 17:1 Only 3 students higher than the county average[/quote]

Overcrowdedness is about the building's capacity being lower than its enrollment. Blair has a ton of portable classrooms too because of this.[/quote]

Look at the bottom right chart on the second page. Look at capacity. Look at enrollment. It's 300-400 overcapacity this year. They had to take over the back parking lot with trailers and they didn't do that in previous years. There were already a lot of trailers near the main field.
Based on what we heard there are more than more 200 freshman in the fall than seniors who graduated. Unless there is attrition from other classes that could mean 500-600 overcapacity. How does a school even handle that many additional kids? That's a whole school.

If they will put my daughter in her third choice school when it's more overcrowded than her first choice what's stopping them from letting her transfer into a less crowded school ??[/quote]

Why can't she go to her home school if transportation is the issue?  This doesn't make sense.  How would getting to Blair be easier than Wheaton?  Neither is going to offer easy transportation.[/quote]

Blair is closer to us . Blair is 1 metro bus away but wheaton is 3 . [/quote]
