[/quote] "Behind" is not really the point though, is it. They are not behind if they are on track for college and what they intend to study in college. No one needs to go past calculus to attend any college, not even if they intend to study math or engineering. So they aren't "behind" anything. Yes, our private school has kids taking math beyond Calc, and they accommodate students where they are, even if it requires a 1:1 independent study. But that is not the 'norm' in any school, and this OP asked about the norm.[/quote]
