Why can’t you just reconcile your CC statements with your electronic receipt that was emailed to you? You obviously have internet access? What are you doing with the receipts after you make sure everything was correct? [/quote]

First PP here. I save the receipts in a small canister in my kitchen. On the last day of each month, I pull them out and track them via excel broken down by categories (food, clothing gas, medical etc). I understand there are simpler ways to track expenses before someone chimes in. However, there is something about going through my tracking/reconciling process that keeps me mindful of my spending.
