This is all true.  Any ouch to change the name of the school is misguided.

My kids attend a high school with similar demographics.  Money is tight.  We reuse the same jerseys year after year.  Needing to buy all new jerseys for all the sports would be a huge burden.

Sports are definitely a good way to keep some students (who may otherwise be disenfranchised) interested in school.  You have to attend class in order to play your sport, etc.  And maintain a GPA.[/quote]
