I’m actually happy that’s she’s decided to expand her search a bit. I personally have no concern over the prestige factor. We just live in MD and so UMCP is a school that she will apply to because it’s the public program in our state. The only other is UMBC and, while I think it’s a fantastic school, I’d prefer she go somewhere with a more active on campus life. It would be nice if MD preferenced in-state students but they don’t seem to do that. She’s even planning to apply to the SUNY that I attended (that I absolutely loved) that rarely appears on these boards but is well ranked. People in this area don’t seem to think much of the SUNY programs, which is weird to me because they’re a great value. [/quote]
