My generally applicable definition of a sport is that it is something which requires running and has the possibility of a fight.  Hockey is a sport because although there is technically no running, the possibility of a fight is so high.   :)   Everything else, even if tremendously athletic (think gymnastics, or tennis) is an activity.[/quote]
