Any chance this is at Safeway??? When I was 7 months pregnant, I was loading groceries onto the conveyor belt at the Safeway in Bethesda and the AA check out guy told me I was doing it "wrong". He said I could not stack anything, everything had to be in one level, and in one single file line. Huh?!? I asked him where I could see the written policies about this and he rolled his eyes at me and told me I was pretty stupid if I didn't know how to load the conveyor belt. I almost walked out, but I was so tired because I was PREGNANT and I needed the groceries, I just put up with it. He continued to tell me who did I think I was for stacking up my groceries, and so on. I should have just walked out, but again, I didn't have the energy to go get groceries later. Well, then a customer who was Asian came up behind me and started stacking her groceries and loading them all up on top of each other on the conveyor belt (the same way I did before I got yelled at) and the check out guy didn't do anything or tell her to stop. So I asked him why it was okay for the lady behind me to stack her groceries, but not me. He said that her groceries looked better to him. So I flat out accused him of being racist. He almost lost it! When I got home, I called the store and let the manager know and also wrote corporate. They said they were sorry my shopping experience was less than pleasant but did nothing else. I will NEVER shop there again. So I would absolutely confront this lady at your grocery store and tell her you realize that she's probably tired, grumpy, etc. but that she doesn't have to be so unpleasant to you. And if that doesn't work, tell the manager.
