Is there a place around here (DMV) where the sold clothes from The Fold? I want to try on a suit, not spend that kind of $$$ sight unseen. Also disagree suits are passe. I'm a lawyer and a suit is a must for court. Not a sheath dress and a sweater jacket or the like. I also want to wear a suit for interviews and it's what I see. Agree women are not wearing full suits daily to the office any more.
I’m a lawyer too, but not a court room lawyer. When I go to conferences, client meetings etc where we need to be in very conservative professional wear (ie men are all in suits), no women are wearing suits anymore. It’s actually much harder to do, because you need to pull together blazers and tops that look suit equivalent and match them with outfits. Much harder than just grabbing a suit.
I actually agree that a suit is less stylish and can actually look frumpier and less put together than the other options. Just wish there were still easy normal places to buy them bc I still need and want a couple.
I don't know what kind of suits you are wearing, but I have beautiful and stylish suits. This season, I've bought suits from Banana Republic (they have GREAT suits right now), Mossimo Dutti and even Zara has some nice suits. I lead a large think tank in DC and I am wearing more suits than ever.
Do you try them on at the store in BR? If so, which one? I really wanted to try on suits in person for sizing (I've had two kids since I last bought one!) And the BR at Westfield Montgomery Mall for example was a real dud on this front -- just the really oversized jacket style.
