It’s been 70 years since the last coronation. You’d all be screaming bloody murder if they went out and got more furs to make new robes. The colors represent the Union Jack, and ladies of the peerage traditionally wear white underneath their robes. There also used to be a portion of the coronation where when the king was crowned, the peers would then put on their coronets and the ladies would do so when the queen was crowned.
