That’s how Bus Patrol makes money.
And governments love it because fines are limited source of funds to raise from people who can't fight back, instead of taxing the rich more.
Fortunately, there's a super-easy way for you to avoid getting a ticket for passing a stopped school bus while driving! Namely, stop for stopped school buses.
Easy on a quiet, obvious neighborhood street. You’ll get rear ended and cause a pile up and earth in a busy, multi lane, two direction commercial street.
Stopping for a school bus with its arm out causes traffic accidents? Unique take. Inexcusable, but still unique.
Not unique and a common issue on roads where drivers 6 lanes away can’t even see school bus through traffic. School buses are easily hidden behind tractor trailers. MCPS should never be putting bus stops on major roads for safety reasons but they do it anyway.
