And that's great.  But, couples in which neither parent choose to take a more flexible job and who enjoy two full incomes can't be too surprised or upset that people who have made the choice to forego the money have it easier.  We all make our choices in life and all choices come with trade-offs. [/quote]

+1 -- with OP and last PP; also, to second PP -- not everyone has the option to take a "flexible" job (for example, whether you're in a big firm or an NGO, there aren't a lot of those jobs in law [/quote]
