I came here to see if it was normal. I just got a list of items requested for each day of the week from our small daycare. I'm honestly a little floored by the requests for giftcards and food and buying them lunch and other very specific things for each day of the week. We barely afford the $400 a week to have them watch our 10 month old, and now i feel like i've been given two weeks notice to pay up or else. I generally like doing small baskets/gifts for people and teachers in my family, but this demanding list of favorites and requests from two people i pay on time, every week, whether my kid is there or not, just feels gross to me. I've never heard of a full week either. A day, yes, but a full week and demands is just nuts to me.
My room parent asked me to fill out a questionnaire about things I like-so I did. It was by no means a list of demands from me to the parents. Perhaps someone at the school asked teachers to fill out a form? If you don't want to participate in gift giving, just send a nice thank you note. Teachers of all people certainly understand that budgets get tight sometimes...
