Dad is an earlier riser- before 545 so on weekends they get up together. We also rotate sleeping in on the weekends although my DHs version of sleeping in is 730/8am and then watching the news for an hour whereas I can sleep until 11am still.

We do not allow our son to eat or be downstairs solo. If we are both feeling lazy or ill, we have a TV in our room and we've previously let him go get snacks from his snack drawer and watch TV in our room until one of us is feeling better/alive.

He would absolutely open the door and take the dog for a walk or go outside and play or if our neighbor was out go out the garage and say hi left to his own devices. He's an extroverted morning person  :lol: so we had to enforce not being solo in the morning.
