Why is it complicated? If two people want to dedicate their lives to each other, it is a marriage. If you don't like two people of the same sex getting married, that is a you problem, not a them problem.

Ok, I’m actually on the side of marriage equality.

I just think it would have been less religious/semantics argument if we had done the civil union licenses and ceremonies like they do in Europe. If people then want to go get the “marriage” sacrament performed, that’s their prerogative

It would take a long time to untangle all the places where “marriage” gives you some benefit .

Hopefully we have made it so that this is no longer an issue, but who knows what those nuts on SCOTUS will do, so if they undo that decision, I guess we could go to this method.[/quote]
