I'm guessing no one is going to talk about this on here, but my kid's dad is a very well-paid fed who is constantly on personal vacation. I mean, I've lost track of how many times per year he has been off traveling, plus breaks with the kids winter break, spring break, summer vacations, being chaperone for their field trips, able to pick them up early after school, attend their sports practices at times most people are working. This is has been ongoing for years. How much leave to federal employees get or is he milking the system? It would be impossible that this is carryover year after year and he is not the type to be up on his computer late into the night. I am working in the wrong sector.
One) MYOB. Two) Feds accrue the following: 4 hours per pay period of sick leave + 4 hours per pay period (years 1-3)/6 hours per pay period (years 4-15) except for 10 hour last pay period/8 hours per pay period(years 15+) Three) Time Off awards are provided in some (most?) agencies There is only so much rollover they can carry. So once you get to 200 hours in January of one year you could take off 208 hours per year and still have 200 remaining. You can also have a flex schedule. You can also work compact schedule so 4 10s with one day off every week or 9s where you get every other Friday off. I don't work for the fed but am able to arrange to be OOO every day from 2-3 for pickup. If I start at 6 its basically the end of day at 2. So I log back in from 3-4 and make sure I finish through the end of day. I could also not log back in on M and W because of sports and then logging back in 3-4 T/Th/Fr covers the "missed" time.
