We have a summer vegetable garden but have never thought to have asparagus…when do you plant?[/quote] Plant in the early spring, March even. It comes back each year and takes a few years to get established. You’ll see it every spring (sometimes in the fall if you’re lucky), but it’s really thin while it’s getting established. It’s one of the few perennial vegetables that get better each year.[/quote]
