Am I the only one who is quite amazed at how ballistic OP went with berating her SIL simply over free hotel snacks? Sure SIL doesn't seem like she has a lot of EQ to read the room, asking for more freebies, but (to me) that doesn't warrant yelling profanites multiple times and getting her thrown out of the hotel after it happened. OP, perhaps you are embarrassed that you got caught by the hotel with freebies you weren't entitled to, and that embarrassment carried over to your anger?
Totally agree. 1 - The OP dislikes her SIL so any little thing her SIL does irritates her. 2 - If I showed up and there was a gift basket in my room, and no one said otherwise, I would think the hotel provided it. In that case, SIL behavior isn’t entitled. She got something for free from the hotel and was asking if she could get more of the free stuff. Maybe she thought it was like shampoo or something. 3 - If the OPs best friend could get fired for this, then the friend is either very new to her job or she was doing something that she shouldn’t have been and the problem is she is going to get caught. That’s not SIL’s fault - she didn’t demand OPs friend get her a room in a resort, the friend volunteered the rooms. 4 - The OP should be seriously embarrassed and call and apologize for the way she acted AND should accept her feelings of dislike of her SIL and stick to polite social situations only and not vacation with her to avoid such ridiculous displays of obnoxious behavior.
With a gift basket? No, it’s not “like shampoo.” Who does that? Tacky, entitled and gross.
