I'm not defending what your SIL did. I would have "died of embarrassment" as well. I would have been furious that she caused a rift between my friend and me. But I would NEVER have said such terrible things to her, or given my brother an ultimatum.

None of you can handle yourselves here, but the over-reaction is the worst, because you grouped together to bully this person. It might have been conceivable if it was just one of you against her. But no, everyone had to land punches. One against 4 people. It's not ethical behavior. It's not a fair fight.

Even if she is a terrible person, and has been for years, you don't say so. Not in so many words. You just decline to help, without using hateful language at every turn. You sound like such a vindictive, impulsive, low class, vulgar person.

I certainly hope she divorces. She has to escape such a terrible family.
