OP here with an update: The tooter is 75 and as far as I know doesn't have any stomach-related medical problems. We had a 90 yr old and a 78 or 79 yr old as well as people in their 50's, 40's, 30's and younger. We changed up the seating arrangement for last night and an air purifier was placed in the corner of the room wedged between two plants. He did it again, though less (I think? I wasn't seated right next to him as I was Wednesday night). The 7 yr old was given a stern talking to about not making people feel badly about things they can't control, and the 3 yr old was told he only excuses himself. DH pointed out he's the only one who showed up in sweats both nights, so maybe he's just simply not as formal as we are. I don't know.
Why would he share his medical information with you? I'm also not sure what the list of ages has to do with it? We have lots of older people in our family, they develop different medical needs at different points. Is your point is that some other 75 year old doesn't have this issue?
I was answering questions asked in earlier posts. I don't know what your family is like, but in ours we know if someone has a big medical issue going on - that's one of the ways we support each other, by suggesting good specialists, visiting in hospitals, bringing food, driving to apptmts, etc.
You did your best, OP, and I am impressed by your efforts. I wouldn't be too hard on the kids, though, since they are actually being quite well-behaved for their ages. I think I would have had to leave the room to keep from laughing, not to mention avoiding looking at my DH and brother, who love a bit of toilet humor now and then.
