+1.  They have used much of Ward 5 as a dumping ground, and especially NY Ave. The several businesses in Ivy City (including a Planet Fitness, The Lane (wonderful indoor play area for small children), Mom's, Target, a sports bar, etc.) are great additions and are used frequently by many nearby residents. However, the motels along this stretch are well known to residents in the area to be shelters that the city rents out for the unhoused.  I can see how a young woman from Virginia wouldn't have known that. [/quote]
