Kid didn't get in. I realize that if my kid did get in, I would love the system. The parents of the ones who don't, may think it's a subjective process. But I am wondering whether there is there any bias especially for parents who are close to the school administrators (aka PTO)? I hear about principal selected. Does the principal weigh in? I recall a conversation where the principal called my kid reserved and I wonder if there was some bias. The comment bothered me.
I’m the PP upthread whose kid got in after an AART referral after being principal placed for 2 years. I’m unfortunately not very involved at all except for volunteering a little earlier on in ES before Covid. I’ve just heard the term principal placed bc my level III kid has been in the AAP classroom but maybe it had more with her being level III than principal placed? I will say my kid who is in AAP in MS says that her core classes (which are AAP) seem the same as the Honors core classes.
