OP here. I'll admit that my kids are allergic. I don't mind others eating it around them, so that's not an issue. But since I have to pay attention, I notice how often it's eaten and how many people need to bring it everywhere and cannot think of something else to feed their child. It's odd because I have never thought "oh I wish I could pack a PB sandwich". And I never feel like we don't have enough tasty options to choose from.
I don’t even particularly like peanut butter but your judgment about people feeding it to their kids a lot is off base. You have your parenting challenges, I get it. But my biggest challenge is that my kid won’t eat anything. I mean it’s just a daily struggle. I truly think it’s genetic because apparently my DH was like this as a kid, like to the point that his parents would be in tears trying to get him to eat. I’ve definitely cried over trying to feed my kid. That sounds so dramatic I’m sure but I just cannot describe to you how hard it is when your child just won’t eat anything. But she’ll eat peanut butter or sun butter or wow butter (look, I don’t want to endanger other kids with allergies, I’m not trying to be a jerk here). It’s basically the one protein source she will eat reliably. I do pack her sun butter and jelly sandwiches pretty much every day because she’ll eat it. I used to try different things but she won’t eat it, and then she’s hungry, and then every one is miserable. Im sorry but peanut butter is a magic food for kids like mine. Again, I don’t even like it! But yeah my kid has it basically daily and I think your judgment of that f***ing sucks because judging someone for feeding their kid is stupid. Im not sitting here steaming about what you feed your kid. I don’t really care, I figure you have your reasons, it’s not my business. You need to grow up and learn to stay in your lane.
