Many schools that were not previously at full enrollment are now significantly in demand, including those that some may consider 2nd tier. Separately, I applaud your worldview on this….whatever is best for your kid is 1st tier regardless of what idiots on this board may say to make themselves feel better. There are more than anecdotal reports that schools once considered “safeties” have lengthy wait lists (SAES, Flint Hill, Bullis, Field, Burke). Purely mathematically, I imagine that the probability of getting out a waitpool and offered admission to one of these schools is slightly higher than SFS/GDS/Maret, but I still wouldn’t count on it and would still view it as very unlikely.
