When there is a principal intern at a school the current principal is temporarily reassigned to another school until the principal intern leaves.
Why it happens at JW so regularly? Is it main training place among all MS?
That’s a great question but it sucks. It is not the school to bring brand new principals into for a trial period and it has happened the past 3 years
Time to go to central office and ask how many other schools have had 3 years of principal interns. Sounds like discrimination
He is on his way to central next anyway. He has been checked out as principal for years
Far from it. We finished at JW last year. He was there from 6th grade on and very engaged even through COVID. Overall we were very pleased with JW. Did we like all the teachers? No. But the majority were great. I know everyone’s experience will be different but we have no regrets about going to JW.
The principal is a genuinely good guy. Won principal of the year at one point. I enjoyed working with him as a teacher. Never dismissive of concerns with staff.
I’ve worked with him too. He is a superstar. He probably gets principal interns because he’s a good model of what a leader should be. I’ve worked for other principals with interns and that was definitely not the case. The JW principal is truly talented. The school is lucky to have him.
Well this is my second year here and the guy is never around. When he goes to another school, the interns can’t handle the school. It’s too much for that size of a school with so many disciplinary problems
