At the high school I teach at we have had one incident. The principal made an announcement but that is it. Honestly, I think it is better to not give more attention to the issue. If we make a big deal about it, I think it would actually encourage kids to mess around more as an act of rebellion. There is a huge lack of boundaries in school right now, so kids are doing more extreme acts in order to rebel and stand out.
We are ignoring it and everything else and look where it got us. Have you ever once thought about the Jewish students and families who this impacts? Do you understand the true meaning about what those symbols mean and what happened to many of our family members? If this was any other group targeted (with the exception of Asian), MCPS and teachers and the NAACP and other groups would be up and arms but when it's targeting one population that is not the majority people like you don't care. It makes me really concerned about sending my kids to school.
