My daughter goes to college in Florida. Today she sent me a video of the Nazi group GoyimTV having a rally near where she lives and near where religious Jews walk to synagogue. She also regularly goes to the health clinic at her school - just had her first gynecological exam there, in fact. All of this information about DeSantis is very disturbing to her and us. He has used his position to participate in government has never denounced the anti-Semitic groups that have marched near the college campus in the last few years. He is a horrible human being. He is a power-hungry individual who is slowly and selectively removing books, changing how history is taught, and trying to limit people's individual freedoms. He is a very scary person - way worse than Trump.
You sound very ignorant of all the anti-Semitic outreach DeSantis has done. Perhaps you are deliberately ignorant - it’s so much easier to vilify him that way, amirite? He is very much a friend to the Jewish community. The rest of your post is just absolute garbage that doesn’t deserve a response. Do better. CS/CS/HB 741 adds religion as a protected class with regard to discrimination against students and employees in Florida’s K-20 public education system. The bill requires a public K-20 educational institution to treat discrimination by students or employees or resulting from institutional policies motivated by anti-Semitism in an identical manner to discrimination motivated by race. The bill also adds a definition of anti-Semitism similar to the definition adopted by the U.S. Department of State’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, providing that “anti-Semitism” is a certain perception of Jewish people, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jewish people, rhetorical and physical manifestations of anti-Semitism directed toward a person, his or her property, or toward Jewish community institutions or religious facilities. “I’m proud to sign this bill to make clear through a bipartisan effort that anti-Semitism has no place in our state and our educational institutions will not tolerate discrimination against the Jewish people,” said Governor DeSantis. “I was especially proud to hold a ceremonial bill signing in Jerusalem. Florida is the most Israel-friendly state in the country and as long as I’m Governor, we will continue to stand with the Jewish community.” “In a time where open anti-Semites are celebrated in some corners of Washington, I am proud that Florida has chosen to move in a different direction and tackle this scourge head-on with ground-breaking legislation,” said Representative Randy Fine. “By requiring that Florida’s public education systems treat anti-Semitism the same way as they treat racism, we send an unambiguous message that Jewish children will be protected from those who would discriminate against or maliciously target them. On behalf of my two sons, as well as hundreds of thousands of other Jewish children, I thank Governor DeSantis for his leadership today.” “The rise of anti-Semitism and the recent attacks against Jewish Americans throughout our country are appalling and unacceptable,” said Senator Joe Gruters. “By signing this bill into law, Florida is sending a clear message that anti-Semitism and discrimination will not be tolerated or overlooked. I thank the Governor and the members of the Legislature for taking decisive action to address this issue head on.” https://www.flgov.com/2019/05/31/governor-ron-desantis-signs-anti-semitism-protections-bill-cs-cs-hb-741/ Governor DeSantis rejects attempts to scapegoat the Jewish community – it has no place in Florida,” Griffin said in a statement. “Through legislative proposals, laws, and decisive executive action, Governor DeSantis has a proven record of supporting the Jewish community and fighting anti-Semitism and the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions movement in Florida.” Griffin also listed several of the Governor’s achievements in supporting the Jewish community and combating antisemitism. Among the named measures was a law DeSantis signed in Israel in 2019 that formally banned antisemitism in schools. Another piece of legislation signed the following year mandates a school curriculum about the Holocaust. The Governor has also approved funding for Florida’s Jewish community, including $4 million in security funding for Florida’s Jewish Day Schools, $1.35 million for the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg, $400,000 for the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach, $100,000 for the Holocaust Task Force and $250,000 for the Florida-Israel Business Accelerator. Another $1 million in recurring funds supports collaboration between Israel and Space Florida. https://www.claytodayonline.com/stories/gov-ron-desantis-antisemitism-has-no-place-in-florida,43432
He was a friend of Disney till he saw political advantage. He needs the white nationalists does not need the Jews because they largely vote for dems.
