My DD has the same stats - 3.8 w and an 1150 SAT and was denied University Park but accepted at Altoona. Penn State does not superscore. I think my DD may have had a better chance for UP if she went test/optional.

Was accepted at JMU and is waiting on Pitt. She does not want to go to PSU Altoona.[/quote]

I am from PA and no way would I agree to Altoona. I would call admissions and try to push for Main Campus as there is no harm and they like the extra tuition. Everything is a negotiation. I would also not do JMU. I would consider Pitt esp if your child is interested in anything in the medical field.[/quote]

JMU is probably what OP will go with; it’s a fine school so not sure why you despise it.
