He plays a sport and the shorter stature is not helpful in his sport.[/quote] As others have said, you can't know for sure, but what you are describing is a common experience. I know a boy whose parents are both short. His voice changed in fourth grade and he was relatively tall or at least average in early MS, but he stopped growing at 5'5" and was done by 8th grade. My kid on the other hand didn't hit puberty until after 8th grade. They were about the same heigh in eighth grade, but my son and is now 6'2." 5'6" is not a horrible height. I'd work to get him comfortable with it. [/quote]
