DCI scores in the bottom half of the word in IB scores. Not impressed. There are schools in India in areas with a fraction of the income of the DMV that do better in IB.
What an ignoramus you are! The IB schools in India and every other country are private schools for the very wealthy locals and the expats’ children. You’re talking privilege off the charts. Meanwhile, DCI is one of a handful of public IB FOR ALL schools in the world. They give all students, regardless of background, language ability, or disability, an IB education. Be impressed and awed by their accomplishments.
You sound like a cheerleading ignoramus. Yay, let’s celebrate low standards in the the DMV, one of the wealthiest areas of the richest countries on earth! Have you even been to India and visited an IB school?
Yes. I'm guessing you haven't and you are listening to the drivel from your relatives and friends of your parents who are telling you tall tales. Had you been to the exterior any major city in India you'd have driven (in your chauffeured car) past Maybachs splashing feces onto local kids bathing in whatever water they could find. The schools of which you speak are not open to all students. They are open to families in the caste system at that level. You are a frightening illustration of ignorance brought about by generations of the protected entitled. You should be embarrassed, except your kind seems incapable. For shame.
LOL! Point on. DCI is one of the very few IB schools open to all. These entitled posters are not happy about that. They think DCI should act like a private school and cater to their kids needs only without having to pay for it. They want DCI to have the resources and self select student body of a private school and have IB averages in the high 30’s/low40’s when even private schools don’t have that. Just pay 50k a year then and go to WIS. That’s a cool 3 million for 6-12, and you will get the self select students you want, you will be happy, and for all that, get a school with IB averages just a few points higher. Problem solved! No one is saying DCI is perfect. They have their problems and growing pains in navigating and adapting an IB curriculum open to all while at the same time trying to meet the needs of different students. It’s an attempt very few have tried. Still in its infancy compared to the long established private schools, test in schools, and IB magnets in this area, the school is on an upward trajectory and many of us who are feeder families are following along to see what comes next.
