My daughter sleepwalks and one of the first times, I heard her walking down the hallway which was odd so I got up to make sure she was OK. She started to put her shoes on and try to unlock the front door to walk out! It’s still haunts me to this day about what would’ve happened if I didn’t hear her. My husband slept through the whole thing.
I did this in the 6th grade, 30 years ago. I was a big sleep walker from ages 8-14, and my parents were used to finding me in the middle of the night elsewhere in the house. But one night I tried to leave the house, and set off the security alarm, which they rarely put on when we were in the house. After that, my parents always kept the alarm on. Apparently when they find me outside on the porch all I said was "I am late for school, I need to go. "
